This is not a conscious decision on their part, it is because our olfactory system is very closely linked the parts of our brain that deal with memory and emotion.
With over 20 years's experience as an aromatherapist, Snug creator Mo, has seen for herself how scent can simply stop people in their tracks. For many years, whilst exhibiting at events, Mo always tends to have her candles lit and oil burners diffusing; she has been astounded to see that a majority of people who walk past, stop in their tracks, some comment on the beautiful scent and even need to know what it is, whilst others just take a moment, breath the scent in and walk on with a satisfied look on their face. If this is possible in a large outside space, just imagine the impact of having the right scent in a hotel or business could have.
Although Mo is not a fan of the word "scent marketing" and would prefer "scent connection" - she believes that exposing your customers to a pleasant scent is one of the least expensive marketing techniques to enhance client experience. Choosing the right ambient scent is key to ensuring a positive experience and inducing feelings of comfort and relaxation.
